Scooter Care

How do I clean the seat? How do I wash the scooter body? How do I service the electronics?

You have questions — we have answers!

Caring for your scooter with a combination of regular maintenance and everyday habits will keep your scooter in the best condition possible! Make sure to schedule maintenance appointments at an authorized Canada Scooters shop.

Seat Upholstery

Use a damp cloth and mild soap to clean your seat and backrest regularly. This will keep it looking new! Avoid abrasive, chemical cleaners which can damage the upholstery.

Ultra-Violet light, such as the light emitted from the sun, will degrade the upholstery coating material. This is a part of the normal aging process, and cannot be guaranteed. Although, while you are not using your scooter, keep the upholstery out of direct sunlight.

Once again, use a damp cloth and mildly soapy water to lightly wash the bodywork of your scooter. You can use car polish to keep it looking brand new. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or strong detergents which will fade the colour. Furthermore, resist the temptation to hose down your scooter. This can cause water to seep into the electronical components and cause permanent damage! To avoid water damage, don't store your scooter in a damp place.

Only an authorized dealership or shop should service the drive electronics and charger. At all times, they should remain sealed and closed. A broken seal will void your warranty.

After about 12 cycles of discharge and charge, your batteries will reach their top performance. This usually happens within the first few weeks. Keep your batteries in a dry, frost-proof place, and keep the battery terminals tight. It is impossible to predict how long your batteries will last. Every scooter is used differently. See the Battery Charging Section for more details.

Motor Brakes

When the motor brakes are functioning as they should, it will be impossible to push or move your scooter when it is switched off, or when it is switched on and the speed control throttle is in neutral. If you are able to move the scooter during these circumstances, do not ride your scooter, and contact Canada Scooters immediately.

Driving Brakes

While moving, letting go of the speed control throttle should decrease your speed right away. If you notice this isn't the case, please stop using your scooter and contact Canada Scooters right away.

Each scooter comes with either foam or air filled tires. Check regularly for signs of wear, cuts, and foreign objects in the tread. Do not remove the wheel bolts, as your scooter has split wheels rims.

  1. While the batteries are being changed do not smoke or use open flame.
  2. Avoid using an extension cord unless absolutely necessary. Extension cords can result in fire or electric shock if used improperly.
  3. If the charger has been hit hard, dropped, or misused do not use the charger. Instead, either take it to a qualified technician, or contact us directly for assistance.
  4. Do not dismantle the charger. This will void the warranty.
  5. Wait until the charging cycle has fully completed to switch off, or unplug your scooter. The charger indicator light will be green when it is safe to unplug. If you disrupt the scooter mid-charge, you risk overcharging your batteries!
  6. Avoid driving your scooter through deep water, or operating it during extreme weather conditions like heavy rain or snow. This risks damaging the electronic controller.
  7. Check your scooter's brakes before every journey. If you can move your scooter while it is off, or while it is neutral, your brakes may be something wrong with your brakes. Do not drive it, but contact us immediately.
